Anwar, Wan Azizah extend condolences over death of Nancy's husband


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail have extended their condolences to Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri over the death of her husband, Datuk Kamil Misuari.

In a Facebook post on Thursday (June 18), Anwar said he prayed that Nancy and her family would be granted strength and fortitude in facing the difficult ordeal.

"We pray that his soul be blessed, that all sins be forgiven, all good deeds accepted and that he be granted a special place by His side," the post read.

Earlier, the office of the Women, Family and Community Development Minister announced that Kamil died at a hospital in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday evening.

His remains will be flown to Kuching, Sarawak, on Friday and laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim Cemetery.

The late Kamil, 65, married Nancy in 1985 and they were blessed with three children. – Bernama
