Specially-abled teacher dies after etricycle battery explosion in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district

NEW DELHI: A specially-abled teacher was burnt alive when his electric tricycle, provided by the district administration, caught fire due to an explosion in its battery in the Sarni town of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the police, the incident occurred late evening near the Jai Stambh square.

The deceased, identified as Sunil Kumar Lokhande alias Guddu, was a resident of Sarni town.

He was an engineering graduate and used to earn a living by providing tuition to students.

At around 8pm, his etricycle’s battery exploded, and it caught fire, engulfing Sunil in flames engulfed Sunil.

People tried to douse the flames, but by that time, Sunil was fatally burned, and he died.

According to sources, the municipality had provided the etricycle to Sunil about two years ago, under the government’s Swanidhi scheme. - The Statesman/ANN
