YANGON: According to the Ministry of Information, university and degree college students will be able to cast advance votes at their respective ward or village-tract sub-commission offices from November 17 to 21, between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

As universities, degree colleges and colleges under the supervision of relevant Union ministries are set to reopen soon, students who need to attend institutions located outside the townships where their names are registered on the voter list will be allowed to cast advance votes.

Eligible voters—students who will turn 18 years of age by Election Day on December 28 and have the right to vote under the law—are advised to vote in advance at their ward or village-tract sub-commission offices before leaving for their respective universities or colleges.

To ensure their voting rights are not lost, students are required to present their national registration card along with their student identification card or enrollment certificate issued by their university, degree college or college when casting advance votes. - Eleven Media/ANN
