One killed, 1 injured in South Korean construction site collapse


SEOUL: One worker was killed and another injured in a construction site collapse in South Korea, according to Yonhap news agency on Saturday (April 26), citing the police and fire authorities, as reported by Xinhua.

A pile of earth came down during the construction of road sewage pipes in Goyang, about 20 kilometres northwest of the capital Seoul, at around 12.21 pm local time (0321 GMT).

Two men in their 60s were rescued after being buried under the heap of soil. One man found in cardiac arrest was pronounced dead, while the other sustained injuries.

At the time of the accident, the workers were digging and installing supports at the site.
