No change in US visa rules for Malaysians, says Wisma Putra

PUTRAJAYA: There are no changes to visa requirements or immigration policies affecting Malaysian citizens travelling to or residing in the United States, says the Foreign Ministry.

In a statement on Saturday (April 19) Wisma Putra said recent reports have mention immigration-related developments in the United States but these are not specifically targeted at Malaysians.

"Nevertheless, Malaysians who are currently in the United States or planning to travel there are advised to stay updated on the latest entry, visa and immigration policies issued by US authorities," read the statement on Saturday (April 19).

The ministry said is monitoring the situation closely and will provide updates if there are any changes affecting Malaysian citizens.

"All travellers are encouraged to consult official sources for verified information and to exercise due diligence when planning their travel or staying abroad.

"Malaysian citizens in the United States are advised to adhere to local laws, immigration regulations, and the conditions of their respective visas, which are enforced strictly," it stated.

Malaysians with queries or in need of consular assistance are encouraged to contact the nearest Malaysian diplomatic mission in the United States.
