UN reports widescale war crimes by Myanmar junta against rebels


BNAGKOK (dpa): The use of force against the Myanmar population by the country's military has increased, the UN body investigating human rights violations in the country said in a report, released on Tuesday, about the 12 months ending in June.

"There is substantial evidence that brutal war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Myanmar military have escalated at an alarming rate across the country," the report said.
