MANILA (Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network) Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual (pic) on Monday (Jan 23) said the Marcos administration was looking to turn the country into a mineral-processing nation instead of an ore exporter to support the local electric vehicle (EV) industry, signalling a major policy shift when it comes to handling the country’s natural resources.
Pascual said he considers mineral processing crucial given the Philippines’ mineral resources, citing the country’s deposits of green metals including nickel, copper and cobalt.
