Cambodian forestry administration issues wrap-up on 2021 enforcement

PHNOM PENH (The Phnom Penh Post/Asia News Network): There were over 4,000 cases total of fisheries and wildlife crimes in 2021 nationwide, with nearly 200 suspects referred to court, according to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Ministry spokesman Srey Vuthy told The Post that 2,998 cases of fishery offences led to arrests throughout the country. Evidence seized included more than one million metres of fishing nets and 183 illegal electric-shock fishing tools.
