Myanmar has 20,000 tonnes of avocados ready for export in 2026-2027 season


YANGON: Myanmar has about 20,000 tonnes of avocados ready for export in the 2026-2027 season from November 2026 to January 2027, with high-quality produce aimed at overseas markets, the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported.

Citing the Myanmar Avocado Producers and Exporters Association, the report said the association is working with Thailand and exploring other international markets to boost exports.

Myanmar currently exports avocados mainly to China, Thailand, Dubai and Singapore, and is exploring markets in India, Malaysia and Russia, the report said.

The country has about 20,000 acres of Hass avocado plantations.- Xinhua
