TELUK INTAN: Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming (pic) sprained his ankle after attempting to kick a booklet while on stage during a ceramah at the Anson Industrial Park on Monday.

Nga took out the booklet promoting Barisan Nasional's Teluk Intan parliamentary by-election candidate Datuk Mah Siew Keong, and threw it up in the air before attempting to kick the booklet with his left leg while jumping.

He landed awkwardly on his right leg and ended up injuring his ankle. Nga later sought treatment at the Teluk Intan Hospital.

When contacted on Thursday, Nga said he was at Kuala Kangsar to pay his last respects to the late Sultan of Perak.  "I am recovering," he said.

Mah will face DAP's Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud in a straight fight in the by-election on Saturday following the death of incumbent Seah Leong Peng earlier this month due to cancer.
