Xiaomi has unveiled its latest lineup of budget-oriented smartphones with the Redmi 17 Series, featuring two new devices. The higher-end model features 5G connectivity, along with a 6.9in screen capable of up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
When it comes to the camera, the device features a single 50-megapixel main shooter and an 8-megapixel selfie hole-punch camera positioned at the top of the screen.
Meanwhile, under the hood sits a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, a 7,500mAh battery capable of 45W turbo charging, and up to 22.5W reverse charging.
Other features include an IP64 water and dust resistance rating, NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. There is also a dynamic RGB light on the back of the device that can be customised for notifications and incoming calls.
The Redmi 17 5G comes in Vivid Orange, Deep Blue and Black colour options, with 4GB RAM and the choice between 128GB internal storage (RM799) or 256GB internal storage (RM899).
On the other hand, the 4G version of the Redmi 17 possesses largely similar specifications and features to the 5G one.
The main difference between the two devices, aside from network connectivity, is the processor, with the 4G model equipped with a MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra. It also comes in three colour options, Lotus Purple, Oak Green and Black, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, priced at RM699.
