Xiaomi has unveiled its latest 17T smartphone lineup with two new models, with each featuring a rear Leica triple camera setup as one of the main highlights.
Both models – the 17T Pro with 6.83in AMOLED display and the 17T with 6.59in AMOLED display – come with a Leica-branded 23mm main camera (50-megapixel), 115mm periscope telephoto camera (50-megapixel) and 15mm ultra-wide camera (12-megapixel).
The company said the Leica camera setup promises to deliver images with "superior dynamic range" and "beautifully rendered depth of field".
The Leica 5x telephoto camera also promises to help users shoot images seamlessly, from the tiniest details captured via 30cm macro photography to 10x optical-grade zoom and up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
The company also claimed the telephoto camera enhances video capabilities with support for 4K 60fps cinematic recording (for Pro model), while features such as Stage mode are designed to improve lighting and image quality in challenging concert environments and similar low-light situations.
Both models are also equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera with features such as slow motion video recording up to 1080p at 120fps and video teleprompter.
Under the hood, the 17T Pro model runs on MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset while the 17T comes with MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra.
The company said the 17T Pro's 7,000mAh battery is the largest in its smartphone series for international markets, claiming it is capable of delivering an average 1.88 days of use for most users.
The 17T model comes with 6,500mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge or fast-charging feature.
Both models are also equipped with 12GB RAM.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro is available in three colours namely Deep Violet, Deep Blue and Black; priced at RM2,899 (256GB storage variant), RM3,199 (512GB) and RM3,499 (1TB).
