CelcomDigi: ‘Triple fibre cut’ causing service disruption on Celcom’s network in Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Ulu Perak (Update: Service restored)

UPDATE: CelcomDigi said its network engineers have resolved the issue affecting the Celcom network in the northern region.

"Customers in parts of Ulu Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis may have had their data and voice experience affected due to a triple fibre cut we faced between 11.59am to 3.13pm, 27 February 2023. Our network engineers have resolved the issue and services are fully restored," the company announced on Twitter.

PETALING JAYA: Celcom has announced that users in the northern region may be experiencing some issues with its services today (Feb 27).

“Customers in parts of Ulu Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis may find their voice and data experience affected due to a triple fibre cut. Our network engineers are working hard to resolve this issue and restore services as soon as possible,” the company said in a post on Twitter.

Yoodo, which runs on the Celcom network, also posted an announcement urging users to be patient as it works to resolve the issue.

Website DownDetector indicated that users have been reporting connectivity issues since 11.49am today.
