Apple enters 5G race with new iPhone 12 range


The Apple iPhone 12 is unveiled during a virtual product launch seen on a laptop computer. Apple Inc revealed four redesigned iPhones with 5G wireless capability, upgraded cameras, faster processors and a wider range of screen sizes. — Bloomberg

Apple Inc on Oct 13 launched its next-generation iPhone 12, with faster 5G connectivity that the Cupertino, California company hopes will spur a wave of upgrades and keep its sales booming through the end of the year.

The core of the line-up, the iPhone 12 with a 6.1in display, will sell for US$799 (RM3,309), while a ‘Mini’ version with a 5.4in screen will be slightly cheaper at US$699 (RM2,895). A ‘Pro’ version with three cameras and a new 3D ‘lidar’ sensor starts at US$999 (RM4,138), with the largest ‘Pro Max’ starting at US$1,099 (RM4,552) and going up to US$1,399 (RM5,794).
