Apple's flagship iPhone X is being sold for under RM5,000 by an online merchant on Lazada who has knocked around RM500 off both models.

Wow Phone, a retailer on Lazada, is selling the iPhone X 64GB at RM4,588 and the 256GB at RM5,388.

In comparison, Apple's Malaysian site is selling the iPhone X 64GB at RM 5,149 and the 256GB at RM5,899.

The savings amounts to nearly 10%, at RM561 and RM511 respectively.

The retailer states that the units are original Malaysian units and offers a one-year local manufacturer warranty and 14 days easy return.

Wow Phone is not an official store though it has been operating for the last two years and has an 82% positive seller rating.

A check on the comments revealed several complaints by verified buyers including delays in shipping and a lack of protective measures like bubble wrap, though most customers were positive about the phones' authenticity.

Wow Phone's Shipped on Time score – a measure of the seller’s ability to get the package ready for pick-up and delivery within the agreed time period – was at 79%, 14.9 percentage points lower than other sellers in the phones and tablets category.
