Most of the time, once you buy a smartphone, the only upgrade option is the addition of a memory card.

But the team at i-Blades have developed a smart case to provide more memory, wireless charging and extended battery, among several other upgrades.

The i-Blades case also comes with a thermometer, barometer, hygrometer and an air quality sensor. Additional modules can be magnetically docked to the back side.

One of them was on display at the CES electronics trade fair in Las Vegas. It provides additional battery power and storage space and also includes a charger for wall sockets.

It also allows you to attach the phone or battery modules magnetically and charge them. A car charger is also available. Further modules are to follow, such as one for better sound. — dpa
