Good to Go: Will the Grab cars be used to hunt Pokemon?

Based on photos leaked to us, it would seem Malaysia’s top telco Maxis and ride-hailing company Grab are teaming up for the launch of Pokémon Go.

The wildly popular mobile game has been a big hit elsewhere but its creator Niantic has yet to announce if and when the mobile game would launch here. So far there has been no word on when Pokémon Go will be available in South-East Asia, with the exception of Thailand, where telecoms company True Corp plans to launch it in September.

At this point we can only speculate that both companies are gearing up for the launch of the game here and the cars would be used to hunt for the virtual pocket monsters.

We have yet to receive any info from both companies so stay tuned for more info. Reach out to us at bytz@thestar.com.my or our Facebook page if you have info to share.
