TM unveils new Internet broadband plans

Telekom Malaysia (TM) is offering consumers and businesses surfing speeds that go up to 100Mbps with its new UniFi Pro and UniFi Biz Pro plans.  

Both plans offer download speeds of up to 100Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50Mbps. 

Consumers can choose from two UniFi Pro options. The first option, priced at RM329, comes with one of three available HyppTV packs – Aneka (featuring select Malaysian, Indonesian, Korean and Bollywood content), Varnam (Tamil and Hindi content) or the Ruby Pack (with select Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan and Korean content). 

The second UniFi Pro option costs RM359 and includes the HyppTV Jumbo Pack, which comes with English language content channels such as Fox Crime and BBC Lifestyle, along with Astro Super Sports channels.

Both UniFi Pro options come with HyppTV Everywhere on two devices, free installation and activation, free 500MB data per day with TM WiFi, HyppTV set top box, DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) phone, Residential Gateway as well as complimentary iFlix access for 12 months and free three months' subscription to Viu, an Asian TV channel that specialises in Korean dramas. 

Customers will also get free 600 minutes of voice calls nationwide every month (which TM, says is worth RM20), after which subscribers will still get free calls to fixed lines but will be charged 10sen per minute for calls to mobiles. 

The Biz Pro plan, priced at RM399 per month, also offers similar download and upload speeds as the Pro plan.

With Biz Pro, subscribers will receive free calls of up to RM70 for local and nationwide calls for two years, along with free installation and activation, a DECT phone, Business Gateway, 500MB free data per day with TM WiFi.

Other benefits include a Dynamic IP and restoration time of up to 12 working hours. 

TM's consumer and SME department executive vice-president Imri Mokhtar said, “Today, we have nearly 50% of UniFi customers on broadband plans of 10Mbps and above, with data usage growing rapidly from video streaming, file transfers and web browsing, with an average mobile customer using 130GB of data per month – 80 times more than that of an average mobile broadband user.” 

“For them, we bring the new Unifi Pro Plan with broadband speed of 100Mbps.” 

Those who sign up before June 30 will be getting an introductory price of RM299 for the lower-priced UniFi Pro option and RM379 for the Pro Biz plan. All prices are not inclusive of GST.
