VERT:Possibly the first wearable made just for jumping.

There's a new wearable that's been released to the public after exclusive use as the official jump technology of the US Volleyball Team.

Called the Vert Wearable Jump Rate Monitor, it's quite possibly the first wearable made just for jumping.

It's compatible with any sport that requires explosive jumping movements such as volleyball or gymnastics and it can also be used for fitness routines such as jumping rope.

Vert can measure the frequency and intensity of jumps and its goal is to keep athletes safe from injury.

The corresponding iOS app is available in a coach's version called the VertCoach app for US$99 (RM345).

The gadget costs US$124.99 (RM435) and the regular version of the app can be downloaded for free. — AFP/RelaxNews 2014
