Games to watch out for

Tired of generic mobile games? Here are a few from our local game developers that should pique your interest at the very least. The games are mostly available on the Android or iOS platform.

Chinese Zombie War 2
In this free-to-play game you take control of a ghost who can use magical talismans and an array of ancient Taoist weapons to fight waves of undead zombies.

Though the monsters you fight are technically Chinese vampires (known as jiangshi), Tomato Animation said the word “zombie” was more popular and would make the game easier to find on the store.

The game has garnered a huge following in markets like China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan, which is not surprising, as the developers are mostly industry veterans who had worked on games like Codemaster’s Dirt 2 and Operation Flashpoint.

Doctor Life
Most of us aren’t cut out for medical school but this shouldn’t stop you from living out your dream of being a doctor.

Doctor Life
will have you diagnosing and prescribing treatments to patients and be prepared to meet all sorts of fun patients such as astronauts, clowns and firemen.

But that’s not all — you will also have to upgrade the hospital to keep it out of reach from an evil tycoon.
Doctor Life is expected to hit the iOS and Android markets this quarter, and the developer is already exploring other professions.

King’s League: Odyssey

The king’s knight is dead. You will have to compete in the prestigious King’s League to prove to the king that your knight is the best.

And to do so you will have to manage your knight’s time, training and upgrades to give him a fighting chance in the arena.

When your knight is not fighting in monthly tournaments you can beat up bandits, conquer neighbouring cities and raid dungeons for valuable treasures.

King’s League: Odyssey has been released for iOS for US$1.99 (RM6.65) and Kurechii Stuio is working on an Android version.

Agent RX
Inspired by classic stealth games like Metal Gear Solid, Agent RX is about quick thinking and fast reactions. You are a lone operator with a sneaking suit and your mission is to stop a flying fortress from destroying a city.

Standing between you and your quest are a army of goons and end-of-the-level guardians that will test your skills to the max.

The developer Undercover Entertainment expects to release the first episode of Agent RX for iOS devices soon, and more episodic content will follow.
