SHARKRIM Sdn Bhd has announced its first phase of development planning, which includes 300 intelligent franchise outlets across Malaysia equipped with state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence Logistic Systems that offer one-stop solution integrating standard logistics services, intelligent logistics supply chain system, and real-time database system.
Each outlet will have three delivery trucks that could deliver goods in the market valued at RM20 billion yearly. Sharkrim has also introduced a B2B (business-to-business) logistics operation standardisation system, adequate to cater for the needs of B2B supply chain management. Subsequently, the creation of the Intelligent Logistics Ecosystem business model could revolutionise current the logistics industry and business practices.
Datuk Dr Kenny Lew Chung Yuh, the founder and chief executive officer of Sharkrim believes that in the near future, Sharkrim will be able to connect with various industries through the system to embrace the Industrial Revolution 4.0 - computerisation, digitisation, and intelligent standards.
Realising how “traditional” logistics practices could be improved, Lew endeavours to bring great changes. His innovative business ideas and outstanding negotiation skills, complemented by excellent management skills have pioneered and grown the company over the years and set an exemplary standard for a lot of businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
“We’re also looking at the prospect and scopes of halal logistics simultaneously on its principles and foundation for Muslim countries. Halal logistics covers warehousing, transportation and terminal operations. The establishment of these principles serves as a guide for the creation of a global halal logistics system, such as minimising hardship for the halal industry, obligation in between halal and haram and how to avoid the latter, create an evolution of a complete halal value chain and supply chain, and benchmark with existing standards and best practices,” he said.
Lew has always been striving for the improvement of international logistics in the Asia Pacific region, if not globally. With this purpose in mind, he has introduced data format management, cargo standardisations, systematic measurement of logistics costs, price transparency, B2B goods exclusive QR code, and AI fleet data management.
Through these standards, the delivery costs and timeliness will be managed efficiently and meet the B2B supply chain’s requirement of a new economic model in the current digital era.
As testament to the company’s excellent performance, Sharkrim was awarded the “World Digital Distinguished Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Awards” and “Corporate Excellence Awards” recently in June in the presence of Malacca state governor His Excellency Tun Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam.
