INTERNATIONAL Medical University (IMU) will be hosting a Virtual Open Day from 10am to 4pm on Jan 23 (Sunday) to showcase the range of programmes it offers, as well as its campus and facilities.
The Virtual Open Day presents an excellent opportunity to obtain first-hand information on how the university’s internationally benchmarked programmes can help pave your path to promising career opportunities.
Its education advisors will be available to answer your questions pertaining to life at IMU and to provide information on a variety of issues, such as career advantages of different programmes, applying to the university, financing (including fees and financial assistance) and accommodation.
Also, you can find out more about scholarships and bursaries for students with excellent academic results.
Students and parents will also have the opportunity to learn more about IMU programmes by listening to and watching recorded talks by deans and academics.
For instance, you can explore IMU’s latest undergraduate programme, Bachelor in Digital Health (Honours), a programme that blends computing, data analytics and health sciences.
A career in digital health involves working in a discipline that includes digital care programmes, technologies with health and society to enhance the efficiency delivery of healthcare and make medicine more precise and personalised. This is a career that uses information and communication technologies to facilitate understanding of health problems and challenges faced by people receiving medical treatment.
The three-year Digital Health programme at IMU, which opens for its first intake in July and September, is the first undergraduate programme in Malaysia and Southeast Asia that focuses on digital health.
Those interested in postgraduate level studies in a similar area may be interested in the one-year Master in Health Informatics and Analytics (MHIA).
This programme will train the next generation of leading researchers and practitioners seeking to develop the most effective ways to organise, coordinate, manage and deliver high quality patient care and public health.
Students will become experts in linking and analysing large complex datasets, using techniques that are transforming medical research and creating exciting new commercial opportunities.
This integrated MHIA degree prepares graduates for a range of careers in the healthcare sector across various settings where health improvement is sought, enhanced by technology.
Even though you can't be on campus, you can explore it with a virtual tour to get a feel of the campus and facilities. See for yourself how these facilities can enhance your student experience at IMU.
The admissions team will also be on hand to help you navigate the application process and answer any questions along the way. As an added bonus for attending the Virtual Open Day, you can enjoy an application and registration fee waiver of up to RM800 (except medicine and dentistry) if you make an application on that day itself.
