REPAINTNG your home is always a major endeavour. Having invested so much into the paint and other materials, plus time and effort into giving your home a facelift, you would definitely expect to get the results you want.

Especially now with Chinese New Year just around the corner, you would want to ensure your home is spruced up to greet the Year of the Tiger.

With a strong reputation for quality and an established track record in the market, Dulux now gives users added assurance with its Dulux Promise programme. This programme promises users the results they want. Otherwise they will get a replacement of their paint products (terms and condition apply).

Rolled out by its parent company Akzo Nobel, this programme ensures the colour you see in the catalogue and what actually ends up on your walls are the same – many of us have experienced the frustration and disappointment of seeing the finished result differing from what we thought we had chosen. In terms of interior design, even one shade off would greatly affect the overall décor.

Another common problem is when it comes to the finishing – when the paint is not applied properly in a consistent manner – you will end up with uneven coverage that definitely does not meet your expectation when you first embarked on the repainting project.

With the Dulux Promise programme, all these problems will fast become issues of the past. It promises three results:

1. Perfect colour: The actual paint colour will match the swatches on Dulux catalogues and other materials, such as fan decks and shade cards.

However, do note that colour disparity caused by base materials are not covered (colour on different material or surface might look different). Variation could be also due to shape, size or lighting on a surface that can influence the appearance of a colour.

2. Uniform finish: On a well-prepared and clean surface, the paint will yield an even finish without patchiness.

Do take note that this is subject to how the paint is applied, as inconsistent and application not according to the right painting system will lead to an uneven finish.

3. Coverage: The bucket of paint will be enough to cover the area as indicated on the product label and data sheet. However, some colours will require more than two coats of paint.

The Dulux Promise programme is extended to selected products in the programme portfolio applied on a clean and completely dried wall in accordance with the Dulux painting system as indicated on the product labels and data sheets.

Colour of the Year 2022 unveiled

Together with the launching of the Dulux promise programme, the Dulux Colour Futures Colour of the Year for 2022 has also been unveiled.

Bright Skies (Blueberry Mash 14BB 55/113) breathes a breath of fresh air into your home with an ethereal light blue shade. It is the perfect colour to symbolise openness and freedom as well as a connection with the great outdoors, particularly after a long two years being locked away behind closed doors.

“In 2022, Bright Skies will help us embrace new ideas and shape a new future,” said AkzoNobel’s Global Aesthetic Center creative director Heleen van Gent.

“The colour reflects the limitless skies above us, giving us the space to redefine the role of our homes, nature, the arts and new voices in our lives.

“As consumers look to express themselves and transform their spaces, our aim as colour experts is to inspire their colour confidence.”
