FROM everyday favourites to top-performing best sellers, the products Malaysians rely on took centre stage at the inaugural Malaysia Health and Beauty Awards (MHBA) recently, recognising and celebrating the brands Malaysians genuinely use, trust and return to in their daily health and beauty routines.

Organised in partnership with Big Pharmacy and Caring Pharmacy under Big Caring Group, the awards are guided by the theme “Celebrating Health. Honouring Beauty” and recognised products across three pillars – Malaysia’s Choice, Best Seller and Experts’ Choice.

The awards dinner also featured a keynote address by former Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, who described the awards as a definitive benchmark for excellence within the health and beauty sector.

He said the awards recognise brands and products that do more than just sell, but also serve, innovate and earn trust.

This year, the awards saw over 200,000 votes cast nationwide and the results reveal a strong alignment between what Malaysians choose, what consistently performs in-market, and what stands up to professional evaluation.

A total of 110 awards were presented during the evening, comprising 83 Best Sellers awards, 19 Malaysia’s Choice awards and seven Experts’ Choice awards.

More than 80 iconic brands emerged victorious, with brands such as Cetaphil, Lang Bragman, VitaHealth, Ensure, PediaSure, CeraVe, Kordel’s, Eurobio, Buds Organics, Sensodyne and La’Miux securing wins across multiple categories, underscoring both consumer trust and sustained product performance.

The evening’s biggest highlight was Blackmores taking home the Brand of the Year recognition. Sharing the brand’s vision during the awards, Blackmores Malaysia country manager Chong Kim Heng said Blackmores’ mission is to connect people around the world to the healing power of nature.

Malaysia Health and Beauty Awards organising chairperson Wong Siew Lai said, “What stands out from the awards is how clearly it reflects real consumer behaviour, real product confidence and the growing importance of trust in today’s health and beauty landscape. Malaysians today are more discerning and they are choosing products that deliver consistent results, not just those driven by trends.

“By bringing together consumer choice, market performance and expert evaluation into one platform, the awards offer a broader perspective on the

products and brands Malaysians genuinely trust and continue to choose in their daily lives ”

Big Caring Group managing director and group chief executive officer Lee Meng Chuan said, “As consumers become more invested in their overall well-

being, there is also a growing emphasis on quality, credibility and trusted products that deliver long-term value.

“At Big Caring Group, we believe initiatives like the MHBA play an important role in encouraging higher standards, stronger innovation and greater consumer confidence across the industry. We hope platforms like this drive growth in Malaysia’s health and beauty sector.”

Beyond recognising top-performing products, the awards also highlight the role of community pharmacies as accessible and trusted touchpoints in supporting a wide spectrum of health and beauty needs, from daily essentials to more targeted care. As consumers continue to place greater importance on informed choices and trusted healthcare guidance, the MHBA also underscores the growing importance of accessibility, credibility and consumer well-being in today’s health and beauty landscape.
