BP Healthcare Covid-19 testing services at KLIA and klia2

NOW that we are able to fly again, we need to remind ourselves that the battle against the pandemic is far from over.

This means we all have to be responsible citizens of the world to continue enjoying the freedom to finally move around by embracing and practising the new norms of today, especially when it comes to travelling.

All fully vaccinated Malaysians have been allowed to travel abroad effective Oct 11 last year subject to Covid-19 screening. Prospective travellers are required to undergo testing prior to departure based on testing requirements of their destination country. Similarly, arrivals in Malaysia are also mandated to undergo Covid-19 RT-PCR testing upon arrival.

To this end, private Covid-19 screening provider BP Healthcare plays a significant role in ensuring economic recovery while safeguarding national security.

BP has been appointed by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) to set up Covid-19 screening facilities at KLIA and klia2 to provide premium screening and related value-added services before departure or upon arrival to ensure all arrival passengers are duly screened at the airports. This is in line with the government's aim of #ReopeningSafely.

This also applies for passengers under the SG-MY Vaccinated Travel Lane and the Langkawi Travel Bubble (LTB). Travellers are required to undergo Covid-19 testing at BP screening facilities upon arrival in Malaysia to enjoy quarantine-free travel.

The screening services will be available at five locations at KLIA and three locations at klia2, which will start operating in stages. The first centre has been up and running at Gate G1, KLIA since Sept 19 last year for arriving / transit passengers.

The set up of a world-class and robust on-site laboratory at KLIA is expected to cater to around 45,000 passengers daily and gradually up to 100,000 tests per day to departure, transit and arrival passengers as the traffic picks up.
