A distinctive and singular watch directly inspired by onboard flight instruments, Bell & Ross’s BR 01 is a timeless timepiece that continues to evolve over the years.
Staying true to its origins and strong identity, the square case, round dial, and one screw in each of the four corners is a utilitarian design that revolutionised traditional watchmaking codes when it made its debut.
Being the ultimate reference in aeronautical watchmaking ever since, Bell & Ross launched – in 2019 – a tool watch for urban explorers, BR 05.
The BR 05 belongs to the family of watches with an integrated bracelet: the bracelet fuses with the case to create a unified piece.
Since it was introduced, the BR 05 has already been adorned with gold on several occasions, and this year, like an ingot, the BR 05 is dressed entirely in rose gold to make the wrist of its wearer sublime.
To enhance this aesthetic, it is in its skeleton line that Bell & Ross has chosen to embody this new model. When the 05 Skeleton turns into gold, the mechanism becomes a gem housed at the heart of its precious design. The brand also introduces the BR 05 Diamond, a watch that mirrors the architectural modern design of the brand’s latest urban collection.
Skilled craftsmanship
An exclusive edition of 99 pieces, the BR 05 Skeleton Gold will appeal to connoisseurs of mechanical craftsmanship thanks to its all-gold finish which accentuates the monobloc aspect of the model.
The new BR 05 Skeleton Gold is made up of 155 grams of gold, with an open dial that features 18 ct rose gold gilded appliqué indices with a clear window through which the 18 ct rose gold-plated skeleton movement can be admired.
The skeletonised hour and minutes hands are also gilded with 18 ct rose gold.
For great legibility both at night and daytime, the white SuperLuminova® of the indexes and hands contrasts elegantly with the gold of the dial.
To highlight the sophistication of the mechanism and its functioning, the engineers have cut out the bridge and the plate in a graphic and refined style.
Equipped with a BR-CAL.322 mechanism and wound by a 360° 18 ct rose gold-plated oscillating weight, the watch is open-worked to showcase the movement designed by Bell & Ross, with the brand’s logo metallised on the sapphire case-back.
The 40mm geometric watch, made of surfaces and angles, ensures the bracelet can adapt seamlessly to any wrist.
For the BR 05 Diamond, the bezel of the steel case is set with 172 diamonds, equivalent to a weight of 0.88 carats. For optimum legibility, the black sunray dial contrasts perfectly with the applique white numerals and metal skeletonised hour and minute hands, all filled with Super-LumiNova.
Eleven diamonds replace the indexes, while the small date takes its place at 3 o’clock. For a sporty chic touch, the black rubber strap is perfect, while the satin-polished steel bracelet gives off an elegant vibe. A luxury version made of steel, and set with 218 diamonds weighing 2.84 complete the range.
