Selangor's Andrew splashes to a new national record in Sukma

KUCHING: Selangor swimmer Andrew Goh set the pool alight on opening day of Malaysia Games (Sukma) competition by breaking his own national record in the boy’s 100m breaststroke event at Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre today (Aug 19).

Andrew stormed to gold in 1:01.39s to demolish his own previous mark of 1:02.30s set at the Malaysian Open in May.

Cham Yu Xiang of Federal Territories took silver in 1:04.55s with Sabah’s Emmanuel Loh taking the bronze in 1:04.98s.

It’s the first national record set in the pool in Kuching.
