Mind over matter

Huge relief: Ng Eain Yow is happy to get through the energy-sapping quarter-final match against Victor Crouin at the Singapore Open yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Leave it to Ng Eain Yow to enter his first Professional Squash Association (PSA) Gold semi-finals in sensational style at the Singapore Open.

The world No. 14 left it all on the court as his quarter-finals clash with No. 14 Frenchman Victor Crouin went on for five sets and took 107 minutes, with the final set alone taking 39 minutes, but Eain Yow came through with a 9-11, 12-10, 11-1, 6-11, 20-18 win at the OCBC Arena yesterday.
