Sivasangari storms into Australian Open final

PETALING JAYA: National squash player S. Sivasangari booked her spot in the Australian Open final after defeating Belgium's Nele Gilis on Saturday (March 14).

Top seed Sivasangari won 11-8, 13-11, 11-4 against fourth seed Gilis in 50 minutes at the South Bank Piazza in Brisbane.

It was Sivasangari's third win against Gilis in eight previous meetings, with Sivasangari winning their recent match at the Windy City Open last month.

Sivasangari will face either Gilis' younger sister, Tinne, or American Marina Stefanoni in the final on Sunday.
