Eain Yow and Co lose in team semis but women in final

HANGZHOU: The national squash men’s team failed to defend their title at the Hangzhou Asian Games after going down 0-2 to India in the semi-finals at the Hangzhou Olympic Centre Squash Court on Friday.

Addeen Idrakie fought hard but could not give the team a good start after losing 3-11, 10-12, 11-9, 6-11 to Abhay Singh.

Ng Eain Yow was tasked to save the tie but could not rise to the occasion to prevent Saurav Ghosal from winning 11-8, 11-6, 10-12, 11-3.

Meanwhile, the women’s team advanced to the final after securing a 2-0 win over South Korea. They face the mighty Hong Kong in the title match on Saturday.
