KUALA LUMPUR: Top seed Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan kept his cool to reach the final of the Royal Lake Club Open squash championship for the second consecutive year.
Nafiizwan was hardly bothered by the rough tactics of fourth seed Mohd Asyraf Azan as he eased to an easy 11-7, 11-7, 11-3 win in 36 minutes.
“Asyraf is quite a difficult player to handle because he tries to get into your head instead of playing the ball,” said Nafiizwan.
“Having played with him so many times over the years, I’m experienced enough not to fall for his antics.
“I feel really good about the final. Although I’ve not won since the Irish Open in April last year, I believe if I can do it if I prepare well enough,” added the world No. 35.
Nafiizwan will meet second seed Zahed Mohamed of Egypt for the title.
Zahed, the world No. 45, recovered to beat sixth seed Farhan Zaman of Pakistan 8-11, 11-2, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9 in 63 minutes.
