Shooting star Chen Jin guns down her seventh Sukma gold

KUCHING: It was a fairytale end for Negri Sembilan’s Gan Chen Jie as she took home her seventh gold medal from the Malaysia Games (Sukma).

Chen Jie and teammate Amar Syawal Abdul Mutalib came from behind to win 16-12 against Pahang’s Hairiz Haiqal and Nabila Aisya Rahman Abdullah in the gold medal match of the 10m air rifle mixed team event at the Sarawak Shooting Centre in Petrajaya on Wednesday (Aug 21).

The 20-year-old Chen Jie had already won the individual and team events in the 10m air rifle, 50m rifle three positions, and 50m rifle prone events.

Winning gold in the event was also Amar’s third at the Games, after winning the 10m air rifle, and 50m rifle three positions events.
