On a heavy mission

A job well done: Aniq Kasdan finished eighth overall in the men’s 61kg category with a total of 290kg at the IWF World Cup in Phuket on Tuesday to confirm his Olympic spot.

PETALING JAYA: It’s already a feat in itself to qualify despite a stricter process but the Malaysian Weightlifting Federation (MWF) want reigning Commonwealth Games champion Aniq Kasdan to make his presence felt in the Paris Olympics.

After an eight-year hiatus, Malaysia will be represented in the Olympic weightlifting competition again through Aniq.
