Para swimmers shine as Malaysia surpass 33-gold target


Undaunted: Zy Kher Lee won his second gold medal at the Para Games in Cambodia while also breaking the meet record previously held by Vietnam’s Vo Thanh Tung since 2015.

PETALING JAYA: Para swimmers continued to make a big splash in the pool as Malaysia surpassed their gold medal target with two days of competition remaining in the Asean Para Games in Phnom Penh.

Five gold medals came from the para swimming team at the Morodok Aquatic Centre while powerlifter Nicodemus Manggoi Moses and javelin thrower Doriah Poulus contributed one each to take Malaysia’s tally to 40 gold medals after five days of competition.
