Halim cracks two national records, boost for Asian Para Games


SHAH ALAM: Sabah para swimmer Abdul Halim Mohammad (pic) described his success in breaking two national records at the Selangor Para Sukma as a valuable tonic to perform better at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games in Japan, next month.

The 28-year-old swimmer’s brilliant performance at the Selangor Aquatics yesterday, began with winning gold and breaking the national record in the men’s 100m freestyle S9 (physical disability) when he recorded a new time of 1:04.11s, surpassing the old record of 1:06.77s held by Mohd Safwan from Selangor set at the 2025 Asean Para Games in Thailand.
