Kasma pounces in last lap to grab victory

PETALING JAYA: Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor’s Kasma Daniel Kasmayuddin showed great patience and guile to win the CP150 race at the last lap in Round Four of the Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship Terengganu.

Kasma, who was third on the grid after posting 48.944, showcased superb skills and strategies to top the race.

He maintained his momentum throughout 17 laps before making his move to the top two spots, where he was constantly challenged by the other riders.

And in the last lap, the race heated up. Kasma made his move and chased teammate Nazirul Izzat Bahauddin who was leading the pack.

Kasma timed his move brilliantly at the last lane to overtake Nazirul and sped past the chequered flag in 16:30.494.

“I waited patiently and maintained my pace throughout the race and when I found the opportunity to take a slide into the top spot, I did.”

Nazirul clocked in at 16:30.915 while Petronas Sprinta Yamaha-CKJ Racing’s Ahmad Afif Amran came in third in 16:30.943.

In the CP125 category, YYPang Yamaha Racing’s Mohd Fareez Afeez emerged tops with a time of 13:03.786.

The second spot went to Honda KC Racing’s Mohd Haziq Mohd Hamdan, who clocked in at 13:04.709, while Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor’s Mohd Syafiq Rosli was third in 13:04.820.
