PETALING JAYA: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have submitted an official letter to the Sports Commissioner's office to clarify the confusion over their financial reports and budget that were raised during the first FAM extraordinary congress held on Thursday (June 4).
In a statement on Tuesday (June 9), the governing body said the explanation follows allegations that FAM failed to present audited financial reports and annual budgets to coalition members as required.

"As the national football governing body, FAM respect the role of the Sports Commissioner’s office in ensuring compliance with the Sports Development Act 1977 and will continue to provide full cooperation to the relevant authorities in any matter that requires further clarification," the statement read.
Earlier, FAM denied claims that they failed to present reports since 2016, calling the allegations misleading and factually incorrect.
FAM stated they consistently presented audited financial statements at every annual congress, including their most recent report for the financial year ending Dec 31 last year.
