FLORENCIO VARELA, Argentina (Reuters) -Abiel Osorio struck twice, including a stoppage-time winner, as Defensa y Justicia edged Boca Juniors 2-1 in the Argentine Primera Division Clausura tournament on Saturday, leaving the visitors in sixth place.
Boca have 14 points from 10 matches in Group A, while Defensa y Justicia are second with 15 points, trailing leaders Atletico Union by two.
Osorio broke the deadlock in the 84th minute, coolly converting a penalty after being fouled in the box.
But Boca quickly responded, levelling the score four minutes later when midfielder Ander Herrera was brought down in the area. Leandro Paredes, a World Cup winner with Argentina, stepped up to beat goalkeeper Enrique Bologna from the spot.
With the game heading for a draw at the Norberto Tomaghello Stadium, Defensa y Justicia struck in the 94th minute when Alexis Soto's free kick found Osorio, who fired home his second goal of the match.
"These are three crucial points. We've had two defeats. We didn't deserve to lose against Platense. Against Estudiantes, it was very even. You're left with a bitter taste in your mouth, regardless of what we do on the pitch," Defensa y Justicia midfielder Kevin Facundo Gutierrez told TNT Sports.
"We played a very compact, organised game. An intelligent game. When we had the ball, you could see what this team wants to represent on the field. The identity it has. This victory is very good for us."
Boca next host Newell's Old Boys on October 5.
