Turtles not keeping goalkeeper Rahadiazli this season

KUALA NERUS: Terengganu goalkeeper Rahadiazli Rahalim will most probably be leaving the Turtles in the Malaysia League this season.

This follows head coach, Tomislav Steinbruckner indicating his intention to release Rahadiazli on loan to other teams.

According to Steinbruckner, the 23-year-old player has to move to other teams to avoid being just as second goalkeeper and warming the bench as a substitute as his performance was uninspiring last season.

“I have already discussed with our sports director and last season with chief executive officer (Mohd Sabri Abas) about Rahadi (Rahadiazli).

“I want to give him a solution. He needs to go on to become the No. 1 keeper. He needs to play in every game ... not few games like last season,” he said.

Steinbruckner said his team are almost completed with the entry of five new players this season. The players included two key imports, Ismaheel Akinade of Nigeria and Matthew Steen–voorden of Holland.

“We also have Safawi Rasid, Akhyar Rashid and Akram Mahinan. He (Akram) didn’t play all matches last season but he is a good player.

“I am also waiting for two more. A Croatian and one Asean player to beef up the midfield,” he said and added that three Terengganu II players will be promoted this season. — Bernama
