Aug 23 (Reuters) - Ferran Torres came off the bench to score a late double on his debut as Paris St Germain rallied ‌from two goals down to draw 2-2 with hosts Stade Rennais in their Ligue 1 season opener on Sunday.

Sebastian Szymanski and Esteban Lepaul gave the home side a 2-0 lead at halftime but PSG piled on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded ‌with a point.

Rennes led inside nine minutes as Szymanski's shot went in off the post to provide the perfect start to the season for the hosts.

Desire Doue ‌thought he had levelled for PSG but his effort was ruled out for offside, and the home side made it 2-0 seven minutes before the break.

Przemyslaw Frankowski found space on the right wing and his low cross into the box was turned into the net by last season’s Ligue 1 top-scorer Lepaul.

PSG pulled a goal back with 19 minutes remaining as Torres’ clever run beat the offside trap and he collected a Fabian Ruiz pass and scored his first goal for the club since his move from Barcelona.

Torres then levelled the scores in the 83rd minute, and again Ruiz was the provider with a cross from the left, as the ‌Spanish duo dragged their side back into the contest but could not help them find a winner.
