PETALING JAYA: Muhaimin Izuddin Mohd Asri is relishing the opportunity to help his state return to the Super League.
The FAM-NSC project squad player will head to Kelantan for the 2022 Malaysia Football League season scheduled to kick off next month.
The 20-year-old, who revealed that he also received three other offers, found it hard to reject the Red Warriors.
“I can see Kelantan are serious on winning the Premier League and it is also the place where I was born, so I opted to take up their offer,” said Muhaimin.
“I have played for them before in the youth squad handled by Yusri Che Lah but then this is a different challenge.
“Now I will be competing with the seniors and also the foreign imports for a place in the starting line-up. I’m game for the challenge,” said Muhaimin, who featured in 18 of the FAM-NSC project squad’s 20 matches last year.
“The management goal is to at least finish as runner-up and return to the Super League by 2023.
“I will play my part to ensure these target is met,” he added.
Kelantan finished sixth in the Premier League last year.
