KUALA LUMPUR: PMB Investment Bhd’s PMB Shariah ESG Global Equity Fund recorded a one-year return of 34.31 per cent for the financial year ended April 30, 2026, marking a sharp recovery from -7.66 per cent a year earlier.

The fund said that it declared an income distribution of 0.55 sen per unit, totalling RM799,551.17 in gross distributions to corporate and retail investors that translated to a yield of 3.84 per cent based on the closing net asset value (NAV) per unit of 19.26 sen as at April 30, 2026, with the NAV adjusting to 18.71 sen post-distribution.

Its chief executive officer, Hang Tuah Amin Tajuddin, said that the year’s enhanced distribution reflects the company’s commitment to sustainable, long-term value.

"The 34.31 per cent return demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach, which leverages the Nasdaq Dorsey Wright, a momentum-based technical analysis system, to identify high-quality global Shariah-compliant companies with strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) characteristics.

"Despite market uncertainties, our disciplined portfolio and prudent risk management enabled this significant recovery,” he said in a statement.

Formerly known as the PMB Shariah Mid-Cap Fund, the fund seeks to provide medium- to long-term capital appreciation through investments in a globally diversified portfolio of Shariah-compliant companies with strong ESG practices.

Meanwhile, PMB Investment chairman Datuk Mohd Idzwan Izuddin Ab Rahman said the fund continued to demonstrate the company’s ability to generate competitive long-term returns while remaining committed to Shariah principles and ESG integration.

"Our focus remains on building lasting value through disciplined management, robust governance, and the highest standards of integrity,” he said.

PMB Investment added that it is also exploring opportunities in the carbon credit ecosystem and other sustainability-driven initiatives as part of its long-term ESG strategy, and plans to launch a short film on Autism Awareness to promote greater understanding and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum. - Bernama
