Sarawak’s Elvis Priestley dives to Sukma victory in 3m springboard event

KUCHING: Elvis Priestley Clement put Malaysia Games (Sukma) host Sarawak to a great start in the pool by winning the men's 3m springboard diving competition on Monday (Aug 19).

The 18-year-old pulled a superb comeback fight to overtake Federal Territories (FT) diver Yong Rui Jie at the half-way stage to finish the six-dive contest in 415.15 points.

Rui Jie settled for silver with 388.80 points while Nurqayyum Nazmi got the bronze for FT as well with 377.65.

Diving offers a total of 12 gold medals, the highest for Sukma, in the Kuching edition.
