KUALA LUMPUR: “Beat me if you want to take over my place” – that’s the message given by seasoned springboard diver Ooi Tze Liang to his younger compatriots as he eyes a strong outing at the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou and the Paris Olympics next year.

Yesterday, Tze Liang who will turn 30 in Novermber, showed he is still the prime bet for an Asiad medal after beating 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist Chew Yiwei and Cambodia SEA Games-bound diver Mohd Syafiq Puteh to win the men’s 3m springboard Open category in the National Age-Group Swimming Championships in Bukit Jalil.
