THE Malaysia Canoe Association (Masca) organised the National Traditional Boat and Canoe Sprint 2018 at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, in Perak, which consisted of both an open and closed category.

The main objective of the race was to select the team which would represent Malaysia in the Traditional Boat Race category at the upcoming 2018 Asian Games in Palembang, Indonesia and to create a national ranking for the sport of canoe sprint (kayak).
