BANGKOK; Budget carrier Nok Air has temporarily suspended its domestic services from Don Mueang International Airport to Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Hat Yai, effective October 27 through December 20, 2026, amid soaring jet fuel costs.
Wutthiphum Jurangkool, chief executive officer of Nok Air, confirmed the suspension to economic media, stating that the airline is buckling under extreme fuel cost pressures.
Route suspensions and fleet redeployment
"Nok Air is temporarily stopping operations during this period of extremely high fuel prices," Wutthiphum stated.
"We are redeploying our aircraft to fly other routes, particularly with plans to increase flights to India and expand into other destinations."
Official notices from Trang Airport confirmed the cancellation of flights DD592 and DD593 on the Don Mueang-Trang-Don Mueang route throughout the specified period.
Booking system checks confirmed that services to Trang, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Hat Yai remained closed for reservations through December 20.
Passenger refunds and agent alternatives
Passengers directly affected by the cancellations are entitled to ticket refunds, although processing may take 45 to 90 days.
For tickets purchased through travel agents, two options are being provided: a full refund or an alternative arrangement to board Nok Air flights departing from Krabi province.
Agents issuing refunds must advance payments to travellers before seeking reimbursement from the airline within the 45-to-90-day period. - The Nation/ANN
