BANGKOK: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has arranged reserved seating for the public to watch the second full-dress rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession in Bangkok on Wednesday (October 28).
The viewing area will be at Nagaraphirom Park on Maha Rat Road in Phra Nakhon district, with the TAT event scheduled from 1pm.
Registration for the limited seats opened through the ThaiMaster (ThaiMTB) system at 6pm on Monday (October 26).
The registration platform listed 200 places for the event, all free of charge. The latest status shows that all places have now been taken and registration has closed.
The rehearsal forms part of preparations for the Royal Barge Procession on November 6, when His Majesty the King will travel by water to present Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at Wat Arun Ratchawararam.
The Royal Kathin Ceremony is being held on the auspicious occasion of Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s fourth-cycle, or 48th, birthday anniversary on June 3, 2026.
The Royal Thai Navy has scheduled two full-dress rehearsals, on October 21 and 28, following 10 earlier rehearsals held between August and October.
For the 2026 procession, 52 royal barges manned by 2,200 Royal Thai Navy personnel will form the ceremonial fleet along the Chao Phraya River.
Members of the public can also observe the rehearsal from designated viewing areas along both banks of the river between Krung Thon Bridge and Wat Arun Ratchawararam. - The Nation/ANN
