PETALING JAYA: National shuttler Lee Zii Jia is seeking an injunction to hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of his company LZJ Management Sdn Bhd, says his lawyer.
Ahmad Zayd Ahmad Zuber of Messrs Faisal & Zayd, who is representing Zii Jia, said the injunction application, linked to an originating summons, was filed mainly to obtain a court order for the EGM to proceed.
“Basically, it is just an application for us to hold an EGM for the company. That is all.
“There are no allegations being made between the parties. It is simply to allow a general meeting to take place.
“It is nothing too serious. It is just an application to maintain the status quo between the parties so that there are no changes and everything remains the same until the meeting,” said Ahmad Zayd when contacted.
Zii Jia filed the originating summons at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on July 2.
He named his father Lee Chee Hin, sister Lee Zii Yii and younger brother Lee Tao as respondents.
In his supporting affidavit, Zii Jia said the three were supposed to attend an EGM on Dec 22 last year but did not turn up despite being given notice of the meeting.
After the EGM could not proceed, Zii Jia explored several other avenues, including seeking assistance from the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
However, Ahmad Zayd said he was unable to disclose the main purpose of the proposed EGM.
The injunction application is scheduled to be heard at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Nov 25.
