World No 1 pair deny Pang Ron-Pei Jing China Masters crown

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles pair Hoo Pang Ron-Lai Pei Jing fell short in their bid to win the China Masters title after losing to home favourites and world No. 1 Feng Yanzhe-Huang Dongping on Sunday (Sept 6).

Pang Ron-Pei Jing put up a strong fight in the final at the Shenzhen Arena, but Yanzhe-Dongping proved too strong as the Malaysians went down 19-21, 16-21 after a 50-minute battle.

It was a familiar disappointment for Pang Ron, who also finished as runners-up at the 2024 edition after losing in the final to Cheng Su Yin.
