PETALING JAYA: National doubles shuttlers Soh Wooi Yik and Aaron Tai are through to the round of 16 at the China Masters in Shenzhen Arena on Tuesday (Sept 1).
The duo, in their debut together, took 48 minutes to beat Japan’s world No. 49 pairing of Hiroki Okamura-Kyohei Yamashita 18-21, 21-12, 21-15.
Wooi Yik-Aaron will next face Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi of China.
The Chinese pair have a slight rest advantage after their first round opponents, Hariharan Amsakarunan-MR Arjun from India, retired in the first game.
